We have shopped for the shoes, the dresses, and now the finishing touches— accessories. These are the pieces that complete your look, make it unique, stand out, and truly you.

I am keeping the same pairing of shoes and dresses but adding the final pieces for this blog post that is all about styling a maxi dress.

Summer is coming, so let’s get to this quickly.

Flora and feathers

Feathers add fun and texture. Not that this dress needed any more fun added to it, but I went for it on this one.

Pink feather earrings, large scale pattern floral dress in blue, pink, green and purple. Pink, blue and green open heeled wedge slides.

Keeping in the monochromatic theme, I found earrings that have the exact shade of this dress and other shades of green. This adds some interest to the geometric shape that dangles. I added a natural woven bag for some texture to this look. If you want to keep it truly monochromatic, you can grab a bag in a deep shade of bluish-green.

Summer neutrals

Keeping in line with the floral shoes, I added floral earrings. The earrings are minimal to go with the dress. It’s a clean and simple look. I added a beaded neutral color bag to spice things up a bit, but stay in a similar colorway.

Maxi caftans

The hammered metal earrings and beaded green clutch add texture and color to this outfit.

I added pink and orange floral earrings to go with this colorful caftan. The orange straw clutch gives a pop of color and highlights the trim on the caftan.

The sleek elongated gold earrings mimic the line of the dress. This is a bold but simple look. The ruffle raffia bag trimmed in yellow is a great contrast to the hard lines of the dress and earrings.

How to style a traditional maxi dress

I added a bold pearl drop earring to tie in with the pearl kitten heel. The red purse ties in with the unique red trim at each tier of the dress.

I matched the shoes to the earrings here to enhance the color blocking. The clutch ties in shades of blue from the other accessories.

The pink cluster earrings bring a feminine touch to the masculine stripes of the dress. And they work with metallic shoes
