You’re Professional Style is Metropolitan Chic

Your ideal professional style is glamorous.

Your dream closet is full of:

Garments that are fun, feminine, and a little flirty

Dresses that are a tad over the top (but in the best way)

Items that are bold and adventurous, you’re not afraid to take fashion risks

Lots and lots of vibrant colors and patterns

Your style icon is Sarah Jessica Parker

You are all about having fun with your clothes. You have a big personality and love showing that through your clothes. You wish you could do this more at the office but you’re not sure how. You crave lots of colors, big patterns, and bold silhouettes. But you want to remain professional while experimenting with your style. A great way for you to express your style at work is through color blocking and pattern mixing.

Color blocking is wearing blocks of bold color. The trick is to make sure the saturation of the colors matches. Pink and orange, green and turquoise are examples.

Pattern mixing is the art of wearing different patterns together. It’s all about scale. It’s a style muscle you have to work hard to build, but it’s style nirvana when you master it.

The Metropolitan Chic must haves.

Who am I and why do you need to know me?

Kim Hancher here. Style coach, blogger and course creator.

Every time you open your closet the battle between putting on yoga pants (again) and a real outfit begins. The yoga pants usually win.

Is this you but you’d like to change things?

Let’s face it, naked isn’t an option! At least not most of the time. So I want to make sure women over 50 understand how to create their own style.

I show you how to decide which garments are allowed to take up space in your closet and how to put them together for a look that is only yours (minus the frump).

I’m Kim Hancher, Style Coach and recovering corporate girl. Here are some things that make me uniquely, me.

I love: the color green, vegetarian food, laughing, the latest exercise class, and a good purse. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my husband, twin daughters, and fluff-ball Bruno. And when I’m not shopping can be found on some sort of sports field cheering my girls on. I’m a fiercely loyal Capricorn who believes we all deserve to feel stylish.
