This year I’m making a Christmas list for my kids. Yep, FOR my kids with items that I want. These are the beautiful parts about having teenagers. Especially since they both seem to have a budding (very early on but still visible) love of shopping. I knew it, there is some of me in there.

As I pulled together my list for them I realized that I wasn’t adding any clothes to my wishlist. I want other things this year. Buying clothes for others is hard unless they’ve specified an exact item. I’m just not feeling the pull towards clothes this year, especially not as a gift.

So for my gift guide blog post this year, I’m following suit with my own personal list of holiday wants. This list is full of things that are outside of the box, thoughtful, unique, and do not have a ton to do with clothes.

I don’t buy gifts for a lot of people. But those who are on my list are hard to buy for (I’m looking at you hubby and bestie), they have everything, want for nothing. This gift guide blog post is for all those people that may be on your list too, the difficult to buy for. They have everything and need nothing, yet you want to give them something. A small token of your appreciation for them in your life. My hope is that this post can help.

Here is my holiday gift guide blog post for 2022.

Christmas calendars

Olive and June is a non-toxic nail polish company that came on the market a few years ago. They have a system set that includes everything you need to do a salon-style manicure at home. Minus the nail esthetician. Their Christmas Calendar gift box has mini versions of everything that’s in their manicure system box. There are also 7 winter nail polish colors and holiday nail stickers. This is a fun gift idea for a teen or woman who loves to do her nails and a great way to check out their products.

Also knows as Advent calendars but they have no religious meaning. This is a countdown to the big day and is a fun way to dribble out gifts. There are a bunch of them on the market, some for Hanukkah, some are the 12 days of Christmas—you get the idea. This is a unique way to deliver holiday cheer. I found three that are beauty product based.

L’Occitane Advent Calendar has sample-sized treats behind each of its Advent calendar doors. Again this is a great way to try some new products and spread out the holiday love. All with a French twist. If you have a Francophile on you list, check this out.

If you’ve never been to a Space NK beauty store, you’re missing out. This high-end store packed with beauty products is what got me started on my clean beauty quest years ago with Tata Harper. They have beautiful, luxury products (not all are clean) in stores and online. This Advent calendar is a sample of these products and is a great value if you have a high-end beauty product lover on your list.

Gift guide for home

Who doesn’t love a glass of champagne around the holidays or any day for that matter? My husband is a big believer in celebrating things, big and small. For this reason, we always have a chilled bottle of champagne at our house. You never know when something fabulous is going to happen. And how fun would it be to celebrate with this set of four champagne glasses. Either on their own or paired with a nice bottle of bubbles, this is a beautiful gift.

Napkins are a way to up-level any gathering.  These simple white linen ones embroidered with the words love and joy are a special touch to any gathering. So festive and unique. These would also be a great hostess gift or a gift for someone who likes to host.

These foaming hand soaps are amazing and non-toxic. The smells are yummy and perfect to add holiday cheer to a menial task like washing your hands. I bought the Candy Cane and Holiday Spice for our house and I’ve noticed my kids taking a little bit longer to wash their hands these days. There is also a Frosted Pine scent. They smell great and you can feel good about them as well.

Pajamas for Christmas

There is nothing unusual about pajamas as a holiday gift, but these are some unique places to buy them. Small operations that produce their sleepwear using 100% cotton.

These striped Pima pair are so fun with the classic red and white stripe and the red piping at the hem and cuffs make them a holiday stand out.

The green flannel with the white piping would make any Christmas morning that much more photogenic. Lake Pajamas also have darling holiday sets for kids so everyone can look great on Christmas morning.

And the lit-up trees print on these 100% cotton set are so festive and fun. Lots of choices here, it’s hard to go wrong. There are more holiday patterns on the website as well, but these were my favorites.

Socks

I once gave an old boyfriend a pair of socks for Christmas. He broke up with me shortly after the holidays, so maybe not my best gift giving moment???  But I dare any of my friends to drop me after I hand over a pair of these beauties below. I’m loving the new sock trend but wasn’t sure how to wear it. I’m not one to pair socks with sandals or a dress but with loafers or tennis shoes, I can do that.

I bought a pair of these sheer socks and have received compliments from the couple of times I’ve worn them. They would be great stocking stuffers, a unique Secret Santa present, or the perfect gift for the fashion-forward woman on your list. Flowers, stripes, or cherry blossoms you pick, but you can’t go wrong with these. The sheer background makes the fun patterns really stand out and they are more neutral than you think once you see them on feet.

Gift giving guide wrap up

There are lots of different options this year for gifts. For more gift ideas check out my blog on the best jewelry basics and purses under $500. Make your gifts something with thought or intention behind it. Give a bit of yourself while honoring the gift receiver as well. Think about it as a fun way to show your love and appreciation. Try not to kill yourself finding the perfect gift. Newsflash, it doesn’t exist. But thoughtful gifts do and are easier to come by than you think. Here is to a low-stress holiday shopping. It’s my 2022 motto

Happy holidays.
